Davis scores 42 unanswered against Millwood

DAVIS — Class 2A No. 2 Davis notched its first ever win against Millwood with a dominant second half.

Trailing by 14 points at halftime, the Wolves outscored the Falcons 34-6 after the break to win 42-28 in the 2A second round on Friday at Wolf Field. The win puts Davis (12-0) into the quarterfinals at Adair on Nov. 23.

The Wolves slowed Millwood's spread offense in the second half after giving up 12 first downs in the first and second quarters. Deaundre Carr (2), Blake Summers and Alec Hetherington each had interceptions, and Davis held Millwood to just 11 yards rushing after halftime.

Junior fullback Braden Ruth paced Davis' ground game with 12 carries for 175 yards and two touchdowns. Carr had 68 yards rushing and a touchdown and Hetherington added three TDs on 13 carries.

Seminole 52, Plainview 14
SEMINOLE — Trenton Newson was a force for Seminole, rushing for 293 yards and four touchdowns in a romp over Plainview.

Seminole (12-0) remained unbeaten while Plainview ended its season 9-3.

Papi White added 123 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns for the Chieftains, who pilled up more than 300 yards rushing before halftime.

Austin Carrera scored on a 10-yard run and Chase Brooks hauled in a 90-yard touchdown pass from Taber Jordan for Plainview. Brooks had three receptions for 117 yards.

Ringling 60, Hollis 21
RINGLING — Hollis had some success in the passing game against the Ringling defense, but the Blue Devils countered with six forced turnovers in a Class A second-round blowout.

Jackson Dillon rushed for four touchdowns, including a 57-yard score in the third quarter, to pace the Blue Devils' vaunted rushing attack. The offensive line paved the way for more than 400 yards rushing, as the Blue Devils (10-1) cruised to their ninth consecutive victory.

Ringling led 31-13 at the break.

Ringling travels to play at defending state champion Wayne (11-1) on Nov. 23 in the Class A quarterfinals.

Fox 52, Keota 32
FOX — The Fox Foxes booked their first appearance in the state semifinals since 2005 with a 20-point victory over Keota on Friday.

Fox led 14-8 at halftime.

Fox (12-0) will play at a to be annouced neutral site against Pond Creek-Hunter (11-1).
