Melissa Walker, Sunshine Industries, Inc. of Ardmore Executive Director, said the local agency recently "aced" two state audits with perfect performance scores.

"The most recent audit was conducted by the Department of Human Services, Developmental Disabilities Services Department Quality Assurance Unit. The audit of the entire company was performed last week and Sunshine was notified, out of 206 conditions, there were no cites of deficiency," Walker said Friday.

Earlier in the month, the Oklahoma State Department of Health audited Sunshine Adult Day Services, a branch of Sunshine Industries, and found no areas of noncompliance.

With a staff of 47 people Sunshine Industries, Inc. serves more than 100 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in six counties of Southern Oklahoma.

"The Sunshine Board of Directors can't begin to express our great pride and confidence in the staff," said T. Todd Hicks, Board President. "Their experience and care has resulted in much success for our service recipients. It's wonderful to have the State Department of Health and Department of Human Services verify what we have believed all along."
