The Arbuckle Creative Writers are accepting submissions for an adult writing contest. It is comprised of three categories: poetry, short story and essay. A cover sheet should accompany each entry.

Poetry has a 24-line limit and can be over any theme and form. The short story includes any genre and has a 1,500 word limit. The essay can be over any subject of contemporary interest with a 1,000 word limit.

Criteria for judging purposes is 50 percent creativity, 25 percent use of correct grammar and spelling and 25 percent ability to hold reader's interest. First place in each category has a $50 prize. Honorable mention is awarded $25.

There will be an awards ceremony for all participants April 23 at the Ardmore Public Library. Top writers will read their works. Time permitting, other writers may be asked to read as well.
