MINCO — Mabel (Glasow) Laske was born September 23, 1913, at the farm of her parents, Ewald and Lydia Glasow. She died at her home in Minco, Oklahoma, April 6, 2013. She had two brothers, Arthur Glasow of Durbin, N.D., and Harold Glasow of Leonard, N.D.

She attended school in Casselton, N.D., and was active in glee club, band, track and basketball. A longtime member of the Bethel Moravian Church, she recently transferred her membership to The First United Methodist Church of Minco.

Mabel and Lloyd Laske were married June 10, 1939, and were married 48 years. They raised three children, Wayne, Lynn and Sylvia.

In those 99 years, she saw many changes from horse and buggies to space travel and atomic power. She lived through several world wars and the great depression. Throughout her life, she enjoyed singing, sewing, decorating cakes, gardening and cooking for many invited and drop-in guests that frequented their home. She also enjoyed an occasional practical joke.

She is survived by her three children, Wayne and his wife, Kay of Ardmore, Lynn and his wife, Bonita of Moore, and Sylvia and her husband, Don of Minco. She had four grandchildren, Mark Laske and his wife, Kristi, Lydia Laske, Terry Tanner and Bonnie and Steve Bollinger. She had five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Lloyd; and her two brothers, Arthur and Harold, as well as, her parents, Ewald and Lydia Glasow.

A service of celebration was on April 9 at The First United Methodist Church of Minco and a burial service will be on April 15 at the Bethel Moravian Church in Leonard, N.D.
