MADILL — Samuel Bond and Shadow Marris each hit homers for Madill, which outhit Dickson 14-3 on Monday in a 9-6 win.
The Wildcats held off the Comets in the final inning for the win, as Dickson pulled back two runs in the seventh. Dickson scored its six runs on just three hits.
Madill trailed 4-3 before going ahead for good on Garrett Brannan's two-run double in the bottom of the fifth. In the sixth, Ivan Flores drove in a run on one of his four hits on the day, and Bond followed with a three-run homer for the 9-4 lead.
Marris connected for a two-run homer in the first inning.
Mico Blancett had a two-run double in the seventh, Bryer Burn had and RBI double and Garrett Brooks and Chandler Smith each drove in a run for Dickson.
Brannan was 3-for-3 for Madill. The Wildcats (17-8) play at Lone Grove in 4A districts on Thursday.
Latta 7, Marietta 6
LATTA — Marietta nearly battled back from a four-run deficit in its final at-bat against Class 2A No. 2 Latta on Monday.
Latta (19-5) led 7-3 entering the top of the seventh before Marietta pulled back three runs on a bases-loaded triple from Travis Choate.
The Indians fell behind 5-0 before Travis Hallum's RBI single and Choate's two-run triple in the fifth inning cut the lead to 5-3.
Zac Neely pitched all six innings for Marietta, striking out six and walking four. Choate finished 3-for-4 with five RBIs, and Hallum and Chase Willis each scored twice for the Indians. Willis drew three walks.
Kingston 3, Lone Grove 2
KINGSTON — Jake Patterson hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning for Kingston in a win over Lone Grove on Monday.
The Redskins entered the inning trailing 2-1, but scored a run on a based-loaded walk. Patterson then provided the game-winning run.
Grant Harmon had a two-run double in the third inning for Lone Grove (17-14). Jared Hayes added a double for Kingston.
