SULPHUR — Chickasaw National Recreation Area rangers will feature a "Wildflower Walk" Saturday along the Veterans Lake trail.

The walk will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the lake parking lot.

"Wild blue indigo, Ragworts, and Fleabane daisies are just some of wildflowers carpeting the forest and prairie at Chickasaw National Recreation Area," said Dan Winnings, CNRA spokesperson, adding the event is an opportunity to, "Learn to identify various wildflowers and a bit about these heralds of the season while enjoying a great walking trail."

Participants are encouraged to bring:

n Water

n Hat,

n Sunscreen

n Comfortable shoes

n Field guides (if participant has one)

While the walking tour takes about an hour, Winnings said participants are urged to continue the adventure by "hiking the trail and/or enjoying a picnic on the tables by the lake."
