Services for L.D. West were scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Craddock Memorial Chapel with his nephew, Tommy Carter officiating. Interment was at Rose Hill Cemetery.
L.D. was born on January 25, 1930, in Berwyn, Okla., to William Thomas and Lillian (Adams) West. He passed from this life at his home on May 6, 2013, at the age of 83.
L.D. was a lifelong member of this community and was a member of Mary Niblack Baptist Church. He and Shirley would have been married for 58 years on June 6 of this year. L.D. loved his children and grandchildren. He was an accomplished artist and loved to travel, especially in Southwest Texas.
L.D. was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Lottie Vineyard, Jew Carter, W.T. West, Lona Warner, Frankie Goodwin and Bruce West; and in-laws, A.T. and Ola Butler.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley B. West; son, Stacey West and wife, Fran of Ardmore; daughter, Shelly Williamson and husband, Cary of Ardmore; granddaughters, Natalie Davis of Ardmore, Sarah Lee and husband, Greg of Oklahoma City, and Leah Cunningham and husband, Marcus of Norman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers for the service were Joe Baker, Kenny Vineyard, Joe David McReynolds, Charles Shockley and Gib Mason. Honorary pallbearers were James Miller and Kenneth French.
Visitation was from 6-7 p.m. May 8.
