PAULS VALLEY — Sulphur improved to 4-0 for the season behind solid pitching and defense at the Pauls Valley Festival on Thursday.

Playing three games on Thursday, Sulphur defeated Pauls Valley 8-1, Ardmore 3-0 and Asher 9-1. Allie Saunders picked up the win in each game, allowing just 10 hits in 12 innings.

"That's what was really big today," Sulphur coach Heath Gilbert said. "For us to only give up two runs is big for us. We played three games with no errors and that's what I stress every day."

Against Pauls Valley, Saunders hit a two-run home run, the first of two on the day for the senior.

Harlee Griffis, Tiera Norton and Reilly Williams each had two hits and Saunders drove in four runs for the Bulldogs.

Sulphur only had three hits against Ardmore pitcher Katelyn Cronemeyer. Saunders had a two-run single in the first inning and Sarah Shores added an RBI hit in the second.

Asjia Anderson hit a two-run double in the second inning, one of only three hits for Ardmore. Cronyemer and Katie Smith had the other two hits for the Tigers.

"I was so proud of our girls," said Crawford. "Right now, we're the best we've looked since I've been here. We're finally putting the pieces together and the girls look great on offense and defense."
