Kerry Lee Hickman, 57, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at Ardmore. Visitation will be held 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. to greet family and friends at Griffin-Hillcrest. Cremation under the direction of Hillcrest Crematory.

Kerry was born Sept. 17, 1956, at Tulsa, to Keith Thomas Hickman and Wilma Jean (Gibson) Hickman. Kerry graduated from Ardmore High School in 1974. He went to Spartan School of Aeronautics where he received an associate degree in applied sciences in 1978. He went on to Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in 1981. He worked as director of maintenance at Versatile Aviation until 1992, moving to Lawton, working at Jet Away as director of maintenance.

Kerry married Melodye Lushbough on Sept. 30, 1995, at Lawton. In 1997, he moved to Aurora, Colo. He worked as a parts overhaul technician in Littleton, Colo. He loved to attend Denver Bronco games. He went to concerts and picnics in the mountains with his son and wife.

Kerry moved back to Ardmore in 2006 to be close to his parents. He worked with his father in the family business until it was sold in 2008. Kerry was family oriented. He was a good cook, and he loved to work in the garden. He will be remembered as a good husband and best friend to his wife, Melodye Hickman, and a good father to his son, James Alexander Cobb. The struggle is over now, Rest in Peace.

Kerry is survived by his wife, Melodye Hickman, and son James Alexander Cobb of the home; parents Keith and Wilma Hickman; and brother Randy Hickman, all of Ardmore; and numerous family members of Tulsa and Bixby, Okla.
