Three were injured in a Sunday afternoon accident at the intersection of State Highway 76 and State Highway 53 East.
The Department of Public Safety indicated a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Quenton Jack Jackson, 76, of Ratliff City, was traveling south and failed to yield at the intersection. Jackson turned into the path of a 1996 GMC Pickup driven by Jeremy Kane Staples, 33, of Wilson, who had two juvenile passengers. Staples was traveling north. A nineyear-old boy was transported to Mercy Hospital Healdton and mediflighted to OU Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in stable condition with head and trunk internal injuries. A three-year-old male and Staples were treated and released at Mercy Hospital Healdton.
Jackson refused treatment at the scene.
Seatbelts and airbags were equipped and deployed. Child restraints were not in use. The condition of both drivers was listed as normal.
