Three were in­jured in a Sunday afternoon accident at the intersection of State Highway 76 and State Highway 53 East.

The Department of Pub­lic Safety indicated a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Quenton Jack Jack­son, 76, of Ratliff City, was traveling south and failed to yield at the intersec­tion. Jackson turned into the path of a 1996 GMC Pickup driven by Jeremy Kane Staples, 33, of Wil­son, who had two juvenile passengers. Staples was traveling north. A nine­year-old boy was trans­ported to Mercy Hospital Healdton and mediflighted to OU Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City where he was admitted in stable condition with head and trunk internal injuries. A three-year-old male and Staples were treated and released at Mercy Hospital Healdton.

Jackson refused treat­ment at the scene.

Seatbelts and airbags were equipped and de­ployed. Child restraints were not in use. The con­dition of both drivers was listed as normal.
