Edith Lorene Cantrell, 93, of Ardmore, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the Elmbrook Nursing Home in Ardmore. She was born March 20, 1921, in Marshall County, to the late Carl White and May Gardner White.
Lorene was raised in the Cumberland and Timberhill area. She attended school and lived most of her life in Aylesworth. She married Charley Wayne Cantrell on Dec. 22, 1938, in Aylesworth. He preceded her in death in April 1977.
Lorene worked at the Madill Office Supply and, in 2002, she moved to Ardmore, where she lived the rest of her life. She was a member of the Little City Baptist Church, and she enjoyed quilting, sewing, crocheting and cooking. Lorene’s greatest love was being with children and grandchildren.
She is survived by children Charlene Ezell and husband Jerry of Tishomingo, and Sandra Adams and husband Dan of Ardmore; grandchildren Robie Coleman and husband Brad of Piedmont, Melissa Lee and husband Jaycen of Ardmore, Mike Easley and wife Kristi of Denton, Texas, and Kevin Ezell and wife Cindy of Lawton; and great-grandchildren Ethan Bateman, Levi Coleman, Chandler Easley, Hannah Sandel, Hayden Sandel, Logan Ezell and Ashley Heath.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and three sisters.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Watts Funeral Home, Madill.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2014, at the Cumberland Cemetery. Dr. Rex Clayton will officiate the services.
Casket bearers are her grandsons.
