A 22-year-old Ardmore woman was arrested early Tuesday when she was discovered trying to flee a southeast side residence in a car that didn’t belong to her.
Capt. Eric Hamblin, Ardmore Police Department public information officer, said Marissa Cryer was taken into custody without incident about 6:15 a.m. Cryer was booked into the Carter County Detention Center.
“The owner of the car went out and started and left it to warm up. He went back inside and called us when he noticed the suspect in the car starting to back out of the driveway.”
Cryer was formally charged by the district attorney’s office with larceny of an auto. She made an initial appearance in district court Tuesday. Bond was set at $25,000. A preliminary conference was scheduled for Jan. 27.
Cryer is also facing an unauthorized use of a vehicle charge filed in April. She was free on a $15,000 bond in that case, which was based on an OSBI investigation, when she was arrested Tuesday.
