Enrollment is currently underway for the Goddard Center’s winter semester of art classes for children and adults. Beginning in mid-January, participants can learn a variety of art mediums.
Professional art instructors, who teach at the beginner and intermediate levels, teach classes. A limited number of financial scholarships are available. Scholarship and financial aid applications are available in the business office or online at goddardcenter.org.
 
Winter Classes include the following sessions for youth:

Drawing and painting for ages 5-8 is taught by Sharon York. The class is offered on Tuesdays beginning Jan. 20 from 4- 5 p.m. or Thursdays beginning Jan. 22 from 4 – 5 p.m.  The cost for the four-week class is $60 and materials are provided. Beginning drawing and painting for ages 9-14 is taught by Tina Vercelli. This class is offered on Mondays beginning Jan. 19 from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. The cost for the six-week class is $85 and materials are provided. Hand building/sculpture pottery for ages 9-14 is taught by John Swoboda. The class is offered on Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. beginning Jan. 21. The cost for this six-week class is $100 and materials are provided. Wheel throwing pottery for ages 9-14 is taught by Steven Philips. The class is offered on Tuesdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. beginning Jan. 20. The cost for this six- week class is $100 and materials are provided. Cartooning Basics Workshop for ages 8-12 is taught by Robin Montgomery. The class is on Feb. 7, from 10 a.m. – noon. The cost for the workshop is $25 and materials are provided. Manga/anime drawing beginners for ages 13 – 17 is taught by Robin Montgomery. The class is Feb. 7, from 1– 4 p.m. The cost for the workshop is $35 and materials are provided.     
Winter classes include the following for adults:

Still life drawing is taught by Keith Murray. This class is offered on Tuesdays beginning Jan. 20 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. The cost for the six-week class is $85 and materials are not provided. Watercolor painting is taught by Beverly Montgomery. This class is offered on Tuesdays beginning Jan. 20 from 1– 3:30 p.m.  The cost for the six -week class is $85 and materials are not provided. Watercolor painting is taught by John White. This class is offered on Thursdays beginning Jan. 22 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. The cost for the six-week class is $85 and materials are not provided. Acrylic painting is taught by Paul Walsh. This class is offered on Tuesdays beginning Jan. 20 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. The cost for the six-week class is $85 and materials are not provided.   Hand building/sculpture pottery is taught by Steven Philips. This class is offered on Wednesdays beginning Jan. 21 from 1– 4 p.m. or Thursdays beginning Jan. 22 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.  The cost for the six-week class is $125 and materials are provided. Fly tying is taught by Ken Meyers. This class is offered on Wednesdays beginning January 21 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.  The cost for the six-week class is $100 and materials are provided. Experimental techniques in watercolor workshop is taught by Beverly Montgomery. This class is offered on Feb. 21, from 9 a.m. – noon. The cost for the workshop is $35 and some materials are provided. Granite sculpting workshop is taught by Jesús Moroles. This class is offered on March 14 through March 17. The cost of the workshop is $500, which does not include the granite. Granite of variable sizes will be available on site for a small fee.  Lunch will be provided daily.  Payment plans are available. Space is limited in these classes.
