Memorial services for William “Jack” Varnell will be Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014 2 p.m. at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mark Reyes officiating.
Jack was born April 18, 1938 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to John Franklin Varnell and Nellie Mae Dodson Varnell. He passed from this life on Dec. 27, 2014 in Ardmore at the age of 76. He and Virginia Newberry were married in Elk City, Oklahoma on Oct. 3, 1979. Jack was a hard worker. He worked as a safety engineer in the oil industry for many years and also was a butcher. He enjoyed traveling and working on the rigs. On the farm he enjoyed the cattle, mountains and lakes. When he was on the tractor he thought he was in heaven.
Jack was a family man, loving his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents, son William Jackson Varnell, six brothers and six sisters.
Jack is survived by his wife Virginia of the home; children Vicky Bohannon of Sayre, Oklahoma, Misty Dawn Varnell of Canadian, Texas, Brett Allen Varnell of Charleston, West Virginia; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one sister Faye Leurquin of Grahan, Washington.
