University of Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops has announced the signing of wide receiver John Humphrey, who will join the Sooners as a mid-year enrollee. Humphrey is a native of League City, Texas and attended Clear Falls High School. Humphrey was a four-star recruit by ESPN and a three-star recruit by Rivals, Scout and 247Sports.

He was ranked as the No. 22 wide receiver in the nation and No. 25 player from Texas by ESPN. Humphrey was also offered by Baylor, TCU, Texas and Notre Dame, among other schools. The speedy pass catcher collected 88 receptions for 1,195 yards with eight touchdowns during his prep career, averaging 70.3 yards per game.

Humphrey is the sixth addition to the Oklahoma roster for the spring semester, joining junior college transfers Dede Westbrook, Jamal Danley and William Johnson along with early enrollees, Rodney Anderson and Bobby Evans.
