DAVIS — A total of 58 animals were spayed and neutered during the Davis Oklahoma Animal Volunteers spay clinic on Valentines Day.
The clinic began at 7:30 a.m. at the DOAV Animal Shelter Spay Clinic and ended at 11 p.m. During the clinic, 28 dogs and 30 cats were treated, brining the total number of animals treated to 3,677 during the history of the clinic.
Pet owners from throughout the area attended the clinic with 26 pets from Sulphur, nine from Davis, and one from Ardmore and Lone Grove among those treated.
Volunteering at the clinic were Phyllis Watson, Aimee Hughes, Stacy Persinger, G. Bryant, Barbara Campbell, Ben and Audrey Ridlehoover. Linda Beavert volunteered at the DOAV Thrift Store in Davis Saturday and Eve Bondesen volunteered at the shelter Sunday.
The Feb. 28 clinic is full but there are openings for a clinic on March 14. Families that earn less than $50,000 are eligible to participate. To register a pet, call (580) 622-3467. DOAV will have its annual silent auction and garage sale at the American Legion in Sulphur June 20-21.
