Lawrence Gustive Alvin Krueger passed from this life on Sunday, March 8, 2015, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 89. He was born Sept. 24, 1925, in Pierce, Neb., to Ben and Bertha Krueger. Lawrence married Estellene Wilson on May 23, 1949, in Eureka, Calif.
Lawrence served his country in the United States Navy as a Seaman First Class during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW, the DAV, and the American Legion. He was a very giving man. He loved to play dominoes, bingo, cards and board games. He even played dominoes twice at the Governor’s mansion. He also crocheted and made bed spreads. He once crocheted an American flag. He enjoyed arts and crafts, as well as, reading westerns and watching old movies. He was a huge OU football fan. Lawrence also collected eagles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Bertha Krueger; his wife, Estellene; brother, Albert; and one sister, Rose.
Lawrence is survived by one son, Jimmy L. Krueger of Antlers, Okla.; son, Garry A. Krueger and wife, Charlene of Moreland, Okla.; daughter, Elaine L. Bridwell and husband, John of Ardmore; son, Alvin C. Krueger and wife, Debra of Nashoba, Okla.; son, Tony B. Krueger of Minco, Okla.; daughter, E. Linda Dickinson and husband, Junior of Antlers; son, Scott L. Krueger and wife, Anita of Seminole, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Emil; brother, Clarence; sister, Betty; sister, Bernice; sister, Inez; sister, Arlene; as well as, numerous other relatives and host of friends.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today in the Chapel at Burkhart Funeral Service in Antlers, Okla., with Brent Franks officiating. Interment will follow at 4 p.m. at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Okla., under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Service.
