The East Central University baseball team made it a clean sweep of the series against Arlington Baptist, with 5-3 and 17-3 wins at Ken Turner Field in non-conference action.
The Tigers (15-10) were paced by senior Nick Spini in the double-header, with a .778 batting average, seven hits, four runs and five RBIs. Spini’s hits including three doubles. Seniors Ariel Adut and Cale Russell both hit .571 for the day with four hits, with four more ECU batters hitting .500 for the day.
Senior Michael Andrade earned the win in the opening game, coming in and throwing two innings, allowing two hits and zero runs. Junior Dylan Murphy picked up his first save of the season, throwing the final two innings and striking out two.
In the second game, senior Oscar Gomez moved to 4-0 on the season, throwing the first four innings. He allowed four hits and three runs and struck out four.
The Tigers will now head for a five-game road trip starting, today at St. Gregory’s at 3 p.m.
