The Ardmoreite
The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma seeks to hire 30 AmeriCorps VISTA summer associates by May 15 to help fight hunger in Oklahoma. Open positions in Ardmore include posts at First Baptist Church, a partner agency of the Regional Food Bank.
VISTA summer associates dedicate time to serve nonprofits nationwide and help build organizational, administrative and financial capacity of organizations that serve low-income communities. They will receive an education award or post-service stipend, a living allowance and experience professional development.
“My experience with AmeriCorps started my career in the non-profit sector,” said Stephanie R. Polito, VISTA and Food Bank of Oklahoma agency services manager. “It gave me a chance to develop my professional skills while contributing to a cause that I am passionate about. National service has shaped who I am today. It’s my hope that the summer associate VISTAs will have an opportunity to find what they’re passionate about through serving their community this summer.”
In collaboration with the Regional Food Bank and select partner agencies, VISTA summer associates may assist in program implementation, increasing access to food, hosting community sessions to increase awareness of support programs and improving the quality of programs.
