Bike for the Cure Race XVII will be swinging through Ardmore Monday as a leg of the race, which began June 12 in Albuquerque, N.M. and will end June 25 in Dallas.

The race consists of seven bikers who are determined to raise money to fight Huntington’s disease, a neurological, genetic, disease.

The bikers will arrive in Ardmore around 3 p.m. and will be hosted by David and Jacque Jones at the home of Wilma Cupp. Interurban owners Jeff and Tammy Bobst have donated an Interurban meal for the racers and Patti Green, Ardmore resident, donated a WalMart gift card to help the bikers get back on the road, Tuesday.

Mita Bates, president of Ardmore Chamber of Commerce, also donated a gift basket for the riders on behalf of the city of Ardmore to “show appreciation for their efforts in raising money to fight Huntington’s disease.”

In addition, Johnnie Jones, owner of local bike shop Johnnie Sprockets, will service the bikes of the riders.
