A celebration of the homegoing of Margaret Helen Toles-Moore of Ardmore, Okla., is set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015, in Marietta’s First Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Horne officiating. A wake service is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, at the Sunrise Baptist Church, 401 K St. NW, Ardmore. Interment in the Dunbar Cemetery, Burneyville, Okla., will be under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta.
Born at Burneyville on April 13, 1943, the daughter of Elmo and Clotilde Baker Toles, Mrs. Moore passed away at her residence in Ardmore on Wednesday, August 5, at the age of 72.
Mrs. Moore had been a resident of the Ardmore area most of her life. In addition to being a homemaker, she was employed as a splicer in the tire building department of Michelin for 25 years, also as a healthcare provider and for the Mental Health Services in Marietta. Margaret was known throughout the community as “Aunt Margaret.” She held the distinction of being one of the mothers of her church, Sunrise Baptist. Margaret loved cooking for her family, and after retirement, spent time playing bingo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Julius P. Smith, V.T. Smith, and Billy W. Toles; and two sisters, Patsy L. Jones and JoAnn Toles Robinson.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Stephon Daniels of El Reno, Okla., and Billy Williams, Jr. and wife, Deborah and Osanta Moore and wife, Tammy, all of Ardmore; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shelia Christian and husband, Jimmie of Ardmore, Evangelia Renee Moore and husband, Steve of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Natasha Rambo Moore of Paris, Texas; three brothers and sisters-in-law, the Rev. Elmer Toles, Jr. and wife, Ella of Burneyville, Elmer Gene Toles and wife Willie Ruth, of Lawton, Okla., and Frank Toles and wife, Silke of Fayetteville, NC; sister and brother-in-law, Vergie Toles Stoughtenborough and husband, Vernell of Ardmore; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; three stepsons, Phillip Wright, Jr. and wife, Martha and Anthony Wright and wife, Kathy, all of Ardmore, and Cedric Wright of North Carolina; and a special friend, Leonard Stevenson of Ardmore.
Serving as casket bearers will be Johnny Avery, Austin Avery, Kenneth Cheadle, Jerez Harris, Michael Robinson, Rickie Dowdy, and Ronnie Dowdy. Honorary bearers are Virgil Smith, Anthony Brown, and Douglas Peevey. The Mission Sisters of Sunrise Baptist Church will assist as flower girls.
