Oklahoma City Repertory Theatre (CityRep) is proud to announce our 2015-2016 Season, “THEATRE WORTH SEEING”.

 

This season marks the 14th year of producing award-winning, professional theatre for Oklahoma.

 

CityRep Founding artistic director Donald Jordan says, “We are excited to continue our mission of producing a diverse slate of offerings for our Oklahoma audience. Season 14 includes two Tony Award-winning musicals, an Oklahoma Premiere of a Tony Award-winning play, a Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, and another Oklahoma premiere of one of the hottest new political comedies in the American professional regional theatre, a one-woman show celebrating a well-known female journalist and political pundit.”

 

The season is as follows:

 

PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, book by Rick Elice, music by Wayne Barker, based on the novel by Ridley Pearson and Dave Barry. This is the Oklahoma premiere of the Multi-TONY award winning Broadway hit, featuring CityRep co-founder Jonathan Beck Reed.

 

“A grown-up prequel to PETER PAN!”

 

A co-production with Oklahoma City University’s School of Theatre. The production will be in the Burg Auditorium on the campus of Oklahoma City University.

 

Performances are Friday, September 18 through Sunday, September 27, 2015.

 

A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, book by Burt Shevelove and Larry Gelbart, music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, based on the plays of Plautus. With Robert Picardo as Pseudolus .

 

Broadway’s funniest musical, this multiple TONY award-winning comedy classic is sure to delight audiences.

 

“Something for everyone, a comedy tonight!”

 

Robert Picardo- Broadway, film and television actor, is perhaps best known for his roles in Star Trek: Voyager, Stargate: SG-1, China Beach and Wonder Years. Mr. Picardo returns to the CityRep stage in this hilarious musical romp.

 

A co-production with Oklahoma City Community College.

 

The production will be in the Auditorium in the new Visual and Performing Arts Center on the campus of Oklahoma City Community College.

 

Performances are Thursday, November 19 through Sunday, November 22 2015.

 

AVENUE Q, music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, book by Jeff Whitty, based on an original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx. The Oklahoma City premiere of this winner of the coveted TONY award “Triple Crown” for Best Musical, Best Book and Best Score”.

 

“Part flesh, part felt, packed with heart.”

 

The production will be in the Freede Little Theatre in the Civic Center Music Hall.

 

Performances are Friday, February 12 through Sunday, February 21, 2016.

 

‘NIGHT, MOTHER, by Marsha Norman. The Pulitzer Prize winning great American drama.

 

“Eloquent, enthralling and ultimately shattering”

 

The production will be in the CitySpace Theatre in the Civic Center Music Hall.

 

Performances are Friday, April 8 through Sunday, April 24, 2016.

 

RED HOT PATRIOT, THE KICK-ASS WIT OF MOLLY IVINS, by Margaret Engel and Allison Engel.

 

The Oklahoma premiere of the story of the unsinkable Molly Ivins, whose sharp-tongued wit skewered the political establishment of “Good ol’ boys” with unforgettable humor and wisdom.

 

The production will be in the Freede Little Theatre in the Civic Center Music Hall.

 

Performances are Friday, June 3 through Sunday June 5, 2016.
