Ardmore native and Plainview alumna Lauren Carnahan is participating as one of the 19 musical acts in the Stand-Up for Change, a concert tour with a strong message touring the nation.
The official Stand-Up Tour features artists from around the country representing pop, rock, hip-hop, country, and more. A small group of artists will perform at each show and vary from location to location. It was founded in early 2014 and has since grown into a national concert tour featuring artists who share a message to “Stand-Up, Spread Love, and Rock On” while encouraging young fans to make a positive impact on society without bullying.
The tour line-up in all 21 cities includes Carnahan, 19. She has been writing her own music since she was 9 years old and singing since before she could talk. She has performed for over 40,000 students with the All Star Nation Tour — which came to Ardmore and Plainview schools for concerts. During her time on the All Star Nation Tour, Carnahan inspired youth with her music and powerful story about bullying experiences growing up.
Carnahan has won a multitude of awards, including, Best New Teen Artist at The Indie Music Channel Awards, Oklahoma’s Voice of the Fair, and runner up in The American Kid’s All-Star Show.
Carnahan’s new single, “Life of the Party,” was recently released on iTunes.
The tour will take Carnahan to Houston, then Little Rock with several other stops ending on Aug. 23 at the Gramercy Theater in New York City.
The tour includes performances at select locations from season 10 “American Idol” Top 8 Boys finalist Robbie Rosen, X-Factor Top 6 standout Drew Ryniewicz, “The Voice” season six contestant Branden Mendoza, known by stage name My Only Escape, and Sebastian Janoski of “America’s Got Talent” season 7.
