MARIETTA — Private graveside services for Callie Marie Flanagan of Marietta, will be at 3 p.m. today in Lakeview Cemetery, Marietta, under the direction of Flanagan-­Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Marietta. Officiating will be Pastor Shane Norton.
Mrs. Flanagan was born Dec. 16, 1913, in the Eastman community of Love County, the daughter of Henry Lang and Mary Frances Fox Lang. She passed away Sunday, Aug. 9, in the Lake Country Nursing Center, Marietta, at the age of 101.
Mrs. Flanagan grew up in the Eastman community and attended school there. Callie was a beautician in Ardmore for a number of years and then a line supervisor at the Marietta Cookie Factory for many years. She stayed busy all of the time whether it be quilting or crocheting. A member of Marietta’s First Baptist Church, Callie enjoyed attending church activities, especially the dinners for widows, as long as her health permitted.
Mrs. Flanagan was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and a sister.
Survivors include her daughter, Rae McKenney of Dallas; two grandchildren, Jan Parkhill and husband, Mike of San Antonio and Jeff McKenney and wife, Renee of Dallas; four great-­grandchildren, Jacqueline Parkhill and Julianne Parkhill of San Antonio and Quillin McKenney and Mason McKenney of Dallas; and numerous nephews and cousins.
