Stanley Earl “Horse” Horsman, 74, passed away on Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at Roff, Okla. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at First Southern Baptist Church of Springer, with interment to follow at Pontotoc Cemetery, Johnston County, Okla.
Stanley was born on Nov. 8, 1940, at Evansville, Ind., to Paul Joseph Horsman and Eunice Daisy (Denny) Horsman.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving one tour of duty as a paratrooper in Korea and later he re-enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for two years before receiving a honorable discharge and returned home. Stanley married Ruthie Mae Horsman on April 18, 1964, at Ardmore. She passed away on Aug. 11, 1997. He then married Aline Boyd on Sept. 9, 1999, at Ardmore. Stanley worked as a truck driver for Bacon Transport, and retired in 1990. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, fishing and spending time with his family. Stanley was a 15 year member of the Masonic Blue Lodge #25 of Lone Grove, Masonic Blue Lodge #23 of Healdton, Ardmore Shrine Club, American Legion Post #65, and the Elks Lodge of Ardmore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruthie Mae Horsman; son, Nolan Paul; brothers, Sonny and Johnny; sisters, Darlene, Sarah and Rose; and brother-in-law, Nolen “Buzz” Henry.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Aline Horsman; daughter, Melinda Grinstead and husband, Robin; grandchildren, Dakota Grinstead and wife, Carla and Dylan Grinstead and wife, Tasha; great-grandchildren, Alton, Autumn, Ryken, Brayla and Nolan; sisters, Wilma Dunn and Mary Duquette; and sister-in-law, Betty Henry.
