1 The Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur is featuring  several  activities this Labor  Day including several activities at the Living Village, the interactive Chickasaw Poya Exhibit, 1700s Beadwork of Southeastern Tribes collection and the “Dugout Canoes.” Plus along with the regular menu the Aaimpa’ Cafe will be serving bison burgers and Chickasaw dishes.

2 Tuesday the Goddard Center opens an exhibition of avant-garde textile art at noon with a Gallery Talk. The talk, which includes a “light lunch,” as well as the exhibit are free. The work of seven female artists are spotlighted in the exhibition which features fiber collage, weave structures, dye formulas, woven clothing, nuno felting, shibori dying, sculptural forms constructed from handmade paper and more.

3 The 73rd Carter County Free Fair begins with exhibit entries being accepted from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Opening ceremonies will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the main arena. The fair continues  through Saturday and will include a variety of activities and entertainment.
 
4 The Chickasaw Regional Library System will offer Teen Gaming, an opportunity to play WII and board games, have fun, food and make friends in two locations. On Thursday Teen Gaming will be from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mary Parker Library in Sulphur. On Friday teens can gather from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chickasaw Regional Library in Ardmore.

5 The Ardmore Lady Tigers softball team will host Shawnee at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Valero Park. The Plainview Elementary Cross Country Meet will be at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday at the cross country course behind the baseball and softball fields. The distance is one mile and cost is $5.
