Johnnie Ray Sears of Ardmore passed away on Sept. 19 at Mercy Hospital Ardmore, at the age of 55.
Memorial services are from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Church of the Nazarene located at 621 Cottonwood, Ardmore, OK 73401.
Johnnie Ray was born to Barnett Sears and Vallie (Camp) “Sears” Cecil on Oct. 12, 1959 in Ardmore. He was raised in the Ardmore area. Johnnie married Penny Burdick in December of 1978. He went to work as a industrial painter and was employed at Jett Services of Lone Grove for many years.
Johnnie was of the Pentecostal Faith and he enjoyed playing video games with the kids, NASCAR, and grilling. After a hard days work, he enjoyed going home and relaxing and you could find him sleeping in the recliner.
Johnnie is survived by his wife, Penny of the home; his sons and their spouses, Jason and Lauren Sears and Matt and Courtney Sears; his daughter and her spouse, Suzanne Sears and Justin Cook; nine grandchildren, Faith, Justin, Madison, Jadon, Reagan, Evan, Derrick, Bailey and Mary Ann; his brothers, Lonnie and Pearlene Sears, Jackie and Arlene Sears, Keith Sears and his partner, Bill Lish, and Leo and Margaret Sears; and a step brother Dale Cecil; his sisters and their spouses, Lorene Howard, Melba Erwin, Linda and Kevin Cryer, Peggy and Ron Reeder and Beverly and Danny Doggett; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tammy Lee Sears; and his parents.
