In the first Great American Conference match of the 2015 season, the East Central University soccer team lost 0-4 to Southwestern Oklahoma State at Tiger Field.


The Tigers (1-6, 0-1 GAC) were on defense most of the match, as the Bulldogs (6-2, 1-0 GAC) turned the pressure on right away and never let up throughout the match. SWOSU attempted 28 shots, with 11 on goal.


ECU started freshman Chloe Hull in net, allowing three goals and stopping three shots. Senior Taylor Kennedy played the second half, allowing one goal and stopping four shots.


The Tigers attempted a total of six shots in the game (two on goal), with one each from seniors Taylor Kennedy and Kelsey Pickrell each earning one.


The Bulldogs scored their first goal at 15:37 in the opening half. Samantha Nunez scored her first goal of the game off a corner and then added a second nine minutes later (24:15).


Before the end of the first half, SWOSU got their third goal on a penalty kick, to take a 0-3 lead into the break.


The final goal came at 71:49 for the 0-4 final.


ECU will now get ready for a battle with Northwestern Oklahoma State, Saturday, Sept. 26 at 1 p.m. at Tiger Field.
