1. The 20th Annual Chigger Chase will be Saturday in Regional Park with children’s events starting at 4 p.m. and adult events at 5 p.m. The Chigger Chase benefits the Regional Park Authority and the Family Shelter of Southern Oklahoma. Events include a Holiday 5K and one mile run as well as children’s ¼ mile and ½ mile runs. Late registration is available from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

2. The Ardmore Festival of Lights will officially open Saturday and run through Dec. 30 in Regional Park. The display is open Sunday through Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. and 6 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The display spans 1.5 miles with 125 animated displays.

3. The Chickasaw Cultural Center will host its annual Thanksgiving Celebration Saturday and Sunday. The two-day long celebration will feature guided tours of the Traditional Village, stomp dance demonstrations, a Native American miniature ornament class and a children’s Christmas workshop. The center is located in Sulphur.

4. The Goddard Center in Ardmore will present its fourth installment of the Met Opera Live in HD series. Alban Berg’s Lulu will begin at 11:55 a.m. with the box office opening one hour prior to the performance. A lite meal will be provided by Rhonda’s Catering.

5. High School playoff football continues with a number of teams pursuing a state championship. Friday night, Plainview will travel to Heritage Hall while Lone Grove hosts Meeker. Sulphur will travel to John Marshall to round out area Class 3A action. In Class 2A, Davis will host Millwood and Kingston will travel to Luther. Ringling will host Thomas and Healdton will travel to Mooreland in Class A action. In Class C, Fox will host Shattuck.
