Ardmore police continue to search for two men who pulled off an early morning heist at a southwest side store Friday.
The twosome broke glass in the front of the building, located in the 600 block of West Broadway Street, to gain entry and snatched an estimated $8,000 worth of power tools and fled. But not before leaving evidence behind, including eyewitnesses. Sgt. Brice Woolly, Ardmore Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, said police dispatchers received a report of the burglary “in progress” shortly before 7 a.m.
Although the duo had fled before officers could arrive, security video cameras at the store had not only captured the entire theft electronically, but also captured images of the getaway car, described as a silver Cadillac CTS.
Investigators also suspect a dark SUV, possibly a Jeep Cherokee, may also have been involved in the burglary.
The suspects are described as a white male and a light-complected or mixed-race male.
“One of the suspects may be injured after cutting himself on broken glass as they entered the store,” Woolly said.
Det. Juan Galicia leads the continuing investigation.
Anyone with information concerning the circumstances surrounding the burglary, the identity or whereabouts of the two men who pulled off the heist or a potential third accomplice, who may have acted as a lookout, are urged to call police headquarters at (580) 223-1212.
