Many, many, years ago when I was child my mom said, “the chickens always come home to roost.” While she was talking about a criminal getting what they deserved, that saying seemed strange to a kid who tended to overthink things.

In Democrats’ rush to green, they have overlooked the necessity of fossil fuels in this world. I’ve previously discussed our supply chains’ inability to support Joe Biden’s climate agenda, and now we see another facet that the Democrats have missed: grid reliability. Democrats are pushing Green New Deal policies that leave our country dependent upon unreliable energy sources, straining our electrical grids, causing rolling blackouts across the country, and increasing energy costs by over 40 percent on hard working Americans this summer.

Colleague’s cancer fight waged in different manner

My husband was diagnosed with advanced chronic leukemia seven years ago. After two rounds of chemo, he was better for a while but was diagnosed with advanced multiple myeloma a year ago. He has been through almost constant chemo and radiation, lost more than six inches of height due to osteoporosis and fractures, and can barely walk around the house or get in and out of the car for his doctor’s appointments.

Community Youth Services breaks ground on new building

On Wednesday morning, the community came together for a groundbreaking ceremony for Community Youth Services of Southern Oklahoma. Formerly know as the Community Children’s Shelter, the $7.8 million new facility will be over 16,500 square feet and contain 10 bedrooms with two beds a piece and additional emergency room reserved for any late-night last minute cases of children who need a place to stay before going on their way. The estimated completion date is November 2023.

Family and friends will celebrate the life of Ronnie Lee Dowdy Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 11 a.m., at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Ardmore. Interment will follow in Mt.
