This fall is a great time to replace any plants you may have lost to severe cold the last two winters or heat and drought this summer. Fall is also a great time of year in Oklahoma to plant some choice ornamentals in your yard to bring home autumn’s magical display as well as for year-round attraction. Fall planting allows time to establish strong root systems. With stronger roots, plants will be better able to survive the unpredictable weather Oklahoma is famous for.

Nearly 70% of Oklahoma’s state legislative elections will be decided without a single vote cast in November. Those uncontested, no-voters-required races span the state — from Bartlesville to Edmond to west Lawton, where a former Oklahoma Sooners football player named Larry Bush lost the closest state House race in 2018.

The school year has brought about many new changes for Ardmore High School. One, in particular, is a direct result of funding provided by the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission and its “You Can Fly” high school curriculum. The Ardmore City School District was awarded the Aviation Education Grant totaling $7200 for the 2022-2023 school year to participate in a year-long program to inspire, train, and develop its tenth-grade students for a new career in aviation and aeronautics in hope of taking their futures to new heights.
