Biden’s student loan bailout

Last week, President Joe Biden unveiled a plan to unilaterally erase a wide swath of certain federal student loan debts. Not only is such action completely unfair to millions of Americans who do not have student loans or already paid them off, but it will also add hundreds of billions of dollars more to the national debt. This move will ultimately drive our country deeper into a recession in the days and months ahead and could permanently damage the American psyche for generations to come.

Danube drought reveals parts of hidden WWII history

Dusan Stojanovic Associated Press PRAHOVO, Serbia (AP) — The worst drought in Europe in decades has not only scorched farmland and hampered river traffic, it also has exposed a part of almost forgotten World War II history: The hulks of dozens of World War II German battleships have emerged from the Danube River as its water levels have dropped. In the middle of the mighty river separating Serbia and Romania near the Serbian port of Prahovo, a rusty hull, a broken mast where the swastika flag used to fly, an upper deck where a command bridge used to be, a barrel that could have been holding fuel — or even explosive materials — lean on a pebblestone dune that has emerged from the water.

Provenance

If your plants haven’t been thriving (barring the hot, dry summer), could it be grasshoppers? They just took out my two hyacinth beans. Could it be provenance? Steve Bieberich from the Sunshine Farm and Nursery in Clinton, OK discussed ‘Provenance’ in the August 18th’ Shackelford Webinar Series.

“Nattering nabobs of negativity…”

OKLAHOMA CITY – I am sure we all agree the break in political commercials for a few weeks before the November General Election is a welcome reprieve from the unrelenting negativity. The persistent negative ads by candidates and special interests on their behalf seemed to reach new heights… or lows, depending on your perspective.
