Bill Paxton family settles lawsuit with hospital over death

By ANDREW DALTON AP Entertainment Writer The family of the late actor Bill Paxton has agreed to settle a wrongful death lawsuit against a Los Angeles hospital and the surgeon who performed his heart surgery shortly before he died in 2017, according to a court filing Friday. The suit, filed against Cedars-Sinai Medical Center more than four years ago, had been scheduled to go to trial next month.

Heading to the polls

Voters across Oklahoma came out on Tuesday to vote in the runoff primary election. In Carter County registered Republican voters could vote for state treasurer, superintendent of public instruction, commissioner of labor, corporation commissioner and United States Senator. Republican registered voters in District 3 also cast their ballots for county commissioner. Democrat voters were able to make their selection for United States Senator.
