Europe’s central bank backs larger-than-expected rate hike

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — The European Central Bank raised interest rates Thursday for the first time in 11 years by a larger-than-expected amount, joining steps already taken by the U.S. Federal Reserve and other major central banks to target stubbornly high inflation.

Key Russia-Europe gas pipeline reopens but outlook unclear

BERLIN (AP) — Natural gas started flowing through a major pipeline from Russia to Europe on Thursday after a 10-day shutdown for maintenance — but the gas flow remained well short of full capacity and the outlook was uncertain, which leaves Europe still facing the prospect of a hard winter.

New flight simulator arrives at Southeastern Aviation Sciences Institute

DURANT, Okla. – After much anticipation, a new flight training tool has arrived at the Aviation Sciences Institute (ASI) of Southeastern Oklahoma State University. An FDS-B737MAX-FTD device from Canadian manufacturer Flightdeck Solutions (FDS) was delivered and set up by company’s installation team in preparation for a newly expanded aviation curriculum that will now include airliner training.

Lawsuit says Bass Pro won’t honor lifetime warranty on socks

SPRINGFIELD (AP) — A Missouri man says in a class-action lawsuit against Bass Pro that the outdoor outfitter is refusing to honor its lifetime warranty on socks. Kent Slaughter of Springfield said that after years of exchanging his “Redhead Lifetime Guarantee All-Purpose Wool Socks” every time they wore out, the Springfield-based company changed its policy in 2021 before he tried to return four pairs of socks.
