Chief Gary Batton Selected to First-Ever U.S. Department of Interior Tribal Advisory Committee

DURANT, OK (June 17, 2022)— Gary Batton, Chief of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma (CNO), has been named a primary member of the U.S. Department of Interior (DOI) Secretary’s Tribal Advisory Committee (STAC). Chief Batton will be the primary member to represent the Eastern Oklahoma Region on Interior Secretary Deb Haaland’s newly formed advisory committee. The announcement of the inaugural 12 STAC members was made during the National Congress of American Indians 2022 Mid-Year Conference in Washington, DC on June 15.
