Richard Gere helps Carnegie Hall raise money for Ukraine

NEW YORK (AP) — Actor Richard Gere hosted a benefit concert for Ukraine at Carnegie Hall that raised $360,000 for Direct Relief, a humanitarian organization providing medical aid. Soprano Angel Blue, mezzo-sopranos Denyce Graves and Isabel Leonard, pianist Evgeny Kissin, violinists Midori and Itzhak Perlman, Tony Award-winner Adrienne Warren, singer Michael Feinstein, jazz vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant, mandolinist Chris Thile and Broadway actress Jessica Vosk were among the performers Monday night during a program whose themes included prayer and dreams.

Arlie Paul Blount, 80, of Ardmore, OK passed away on May 23, 2022 at Integris Baptist Medical in Oklahoma City, OK. His journey in life began in Ardmore, OK on May 5, 1942, one of 13 children born to Rosemary (Heron) and Leslie Arlie Blount.

Mary Ann Saxon

Mary Ann Saxon, 78, of Madill, Oklahoma passed away on May 24, 2022, at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. She was born on February 7, 1944, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to the late Rev. Edwin M. Walker and Lona Bessie Hambleton Walker. Mary Ann grew up in several different communities throughout Oklahoma due to her father being a Methodist Preacher. She graduated from Madill High School in 1962 and married J. A. Saxon on August 25, 1962, in Idabel, Oklahoma. Mary Ann worked as the Methodist Church Secretary in Madill for over 32 years retiring in 2005. She was an active member of the church and always enjoyed working and helping with the bizarre. She loved cooking, sewing, and turning out the calves in the roping pen for J. A., Wes and Julie. Her greatest joy was her grandkids and going to their events. She is survived by:

Kate McKinnon, Pete Davidson departing from ‘SNL’

NEW YORK (AP) — Kate McKinnon and Pete Davidson are among those departing from “Saturday Night Live,” leaving the sketch institution without arguably its two most famous names after Saturday’s finale of its 47th season. Aidy Bryant and Kyle Mooney will also leave the cast after the episode hosted by Natasha Lyonne. The 38-year-old McKinnon won two Emmys in her 10 seasons on the show, during which her impressions included Hillary Clinton and former Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Her comic chops with characters frequently drove castmates and hosts to lose it live on air. The 28-year-old Davidson joined the cast in 2014 and has appeared in eight seasons.
