Met Opera’s “Lucia di Lammermoor” at the Goddard Center

The Goddard Center is excited to present, live via satellite, the Metropolitan Opera’s newest production Donizetti’s masterpiece “Lucia di Lammermoor” on Saturday, May 28. Admission is $20 for the general public, $15 for Goddard Members and senior citizens, and $10 students.

Teacher’s spouse concerned by toll job has taken

DEAR ABBY: My husband’s job brings him a great deal of unhappiness, but he doesn’t want to quit. He has been a high school Spanish teacher for 13 years. It’s the only career he’s ever known. There have always been ups and downs, but the problems over the past few years seem to be that the majority of kids at his school, and the school environment in general, has become increasingly apathetic, dysfunctional and lacking in civility.

Elton John doc ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’ lands at Disney

Sir Elton John is preparing to say goodbye in fabulous splendor, with the help of a documentary crew and the Walt Disney Co. Disney Original Documentary and Disney+ said Wednesday that the film, entitled “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances and the Years that Made his Legend,” will serve as the definitive and official feature on John’s life and career. Including unseen archival footage, new interviews and a present day look at him and his family, it’ll culminate with his final North American show at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles this November. R.J. Cutler and John’s husband David Furnish will co-direct. No release date was announced.
