When the student becomes the teacher

Martial arts movies and westerns are both known for showing students learning from the best, and eventually surpassing their teacher in knowledge, skill, and understanding. This is a triumph of both the student and the teacher.

Shared ideals in public schools?

On Wednesday, April 20, 2022, I personally delivered a book to each Oklahoma Legislator’s office called Shared Ideals in Public Schools: Enduring Values that Unite Parents and Educators. Central planners do not necessarily have bad intentions; they are just too far away from the local realities.

We agreed on the dates, and I took time off work and booked the flights. Less than two weeks before my arrival, she abruptly canceled the visit, expressing no regrets or concern for whether I would be able to get a refund from the airline.
