Carolyn Jo (Hignight) Means passed from this earthly life October 2, 2022. She was born October 19, 1949, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Billy Junior and Laquetta Joyce (Andy) Hignight. She is survived by her husband of 54 years of the home, one son John C. Means Jr. (JJ), of Plano, Texas, two grandchildren, Emily Claire and Evan William Means of Murphy, Texas, and numerous relatives in the southern Oklahoma area. She was a Christian and a person who never met a stranger. She was full of life, always with a smile on her face and a happy heart. She graduated from Ardmore High School in 1968 and attained an associate degree from Murray State College. She worked for many years as a telephone operator with Southwestern Bell Telephone, then as a loan officer at Southwestern Bell Federal Credit Union, then as a cage cashier manager at Winstar Casinos. She has been retired since 2008 due to an accident. Her passion was to sit on our patio watching the geese, other birds, and animals around our pond. She loved our two pets, Summer (cat) and Pearl (dog), and she would have gladly adopted every animal that came into our yard. She loved to travel, camp, and fish, and was always ready to go. She also loved caring for her many plants around the home and enjoyed the color of blooms. She had not been recently active in the church because of health reasons, but she was always a ready and willing volunteer, whether it be cooking or playing in the bell choir. Any person who knew her loved her and she will be terribly missed.
