LONE GROVE - For the past several months, the Country Tabernacle Church has been gearing up for its 55th Annual Open Air Gospel Singing. A yearly event that has been bringing people together since 1970 to celebrate the freedom of our country through music and fellowship. Pastor Darryl Howard stated, “There’s no better way to celebrate our country’s freedom than the freedom given through Christ.”
The Jerome Westheimer Center for Performing Arts has recently announced their 2024/2025 season of shows. Eight shows incorporating a variety of genres will take place between Sept. 20 and April 12 of next year.
Take in an early fireworks show at Wilson Sunday evening. The annual fireworks display, hosted by the Wilson Fire Department will begin at dark with vendors opening at 6 p.m. There will be music, a concession along with pulled pork sandwiches and hot dog plates. The festivities will be at the softball field.
Depot Days should be highlighted on the calendar for Saturday activities. The event will feature live music, food and activities, running from 2 to 8 p.m. at Depot Park. Basically, it will be wonderful fun for the whole family. Depot Park is located at 101 West Main St in Ardmore.
