Can you believe it? More people watched Kentucky Derby later

NEW YORK (AP) — Perhaps trying to make sure it really happened, more people watched replays of 80-1 underdog Rich Strike winning the Kentucky Derby than watched it live. NBC said some 36 million people watched the exciting finish of horseracing’s premier event on NBC Sports’ social media accounts, including 11.6 million on TikTok, the most ever achieved for a network sports presentation.

For auction: Marilyn’s dress, Thor’s hammer, Cap’s shield

Several gowns Marilyn Monroe donned for “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” and “There’s No Business Like Show Business” are going up for auction this summer along with 1,400 other pieces of Hollywood history. Turner Classic Movies and Julien’s Auctions are teaming up to auction off items like Captain America’s shield from “Captain America: The First Avenger,” a two-piece Givenchy ensemble worn by Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and Jules Winnfield’s wallet from “Pulp Fiction.” The hammer used by Chris Hemsworth in “Thor: The Dark World’’ is also included. The organizations said Tuesday that the auction will run July 15 through July 17 at Julien’s Actions in Beverly Hills and online at juliensauctions.com.
