Unanswered questions on Afghanistan

One year ago this month, our nation witnessed one of the worst foreign policy failures of any presidential administration when President Joe Biden decided to withdraw all remaining U.S. troops out of Afghanistan. The aftermath of that decision in the days and weeks that followed was nothing short of disastrous, and the devastation and consequences of this failure remain. Unfortunately, the Biden Administration has still left many questions surrounding this decision unanswered, a true disservice to the American people.

Our next state superintendent

I have written literally hundreds of articles and two books about very controversial issues, but I am reluctant to address specific individuals because it’s too easy to inadvertently villainize people nowadays. When we face an election like this week’s primary, however, we must consider people and pick sides. I am not sure the traditional sides fit anymore, so let’s start by focusing on the qualities of our next leader.

Online friendship starting to wear out after dustups

DEAR ABBY: I made a friend six years ago on social media. We have never actually met in person, but we have stayed in touch. She began contacting me on a daily basis about a year ago, which was great at the time, because I took a few years off work to care for my baby. It was lovely to converse with another adult as a stay-at-home parent. She’s a very nice lady who is old enough to be my mother but, unfortunately, suffers from severe agoraphobia. She rarely leaves her house. Her window to the world is her cellphone.
