He received aNational Defense ServiceMedal, the Vietnam Service Medal, a Bronze Star, andthe Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medal. He alsowas a Sharpshooter on the M-16 Rifle. Daniel servedwith valor and dignity. He was proud of his service butwouldn’t talk much about it.Daniel was a good friend to many people around town.He rode his bicycle everywhere and loved to go toStranger than Fiction bookstore, talk books, and visit.He was a voracious reader and was interesting to talkto because he knew so much about so many things.The nurses at all three hospitals Daniel was in said thathe always made them leave his room laughing. He wasa joy to be around.Daniel grew up in Venice Beach, California, and heldseveral jobs in San Diego and Cocoa Beach. When hewas young, he spent summers in Ardmore with hisgrandmother. Daniel moved to Ardmore after beingdischarged from the service and worked at LakeMurray Lodge and Beetle Plastic, a subsidiary ofMidwest Cooling Towers.Daniel was very talented. He could lay tile, paint, matand frame artwork, plumbing, and some electrical.Several people around town would hire Daniel to dolight work for them. He was always happy to do it.Daniel will be missed by many friends andacquaintances.Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday at 11:00am in the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Rev JimYeager with the WOW Church to officiate.Onlinecondolences
