In David’s sophomore year at Casper College, he met Mickie Morrison; she had also seen a lot of the country as her father had a career in the U.S. Army. David and Mickie married Oct. 13, 1964. He was a man of many skills and was happiest working with his hands. He briefly worked for Texaco and installed vinyl tops on cars.

His company has built hundreds of homes from Gainesville,Texas to Oklahoma City and has also constructed doctors’ clinics and the Gloria Ainsworth Daycare Center in Ardmore. Though busy, Dave loved the time with and supported his children Traci, David, and Melissa through sports and various activities. His early life led to a love of travel, which he shared with his family on their numerous vacations. Later, he enjoyed the time with his grandchildren and took part in a lot of their activities, too.
He loved baseball and football and was a fan of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. He also rode roller coasters every time he got a chance. In addition to being mechanically handy, Dave also had a green thumb, growing peach and pecan trees from seeds. He was also an avid gardener and loved to be outdoors swimming, riding a bike, or just sitting in a lawn chair enjoying the sun.
