Donna Katherine Moon

A Gathering of Remembrance will be held for Donna Katherine Moon, 74, on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Centennial Chapel of Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home with Brother Casey Clinton officiating. Donna was born January 23, 1948 in Denison, Texas, the daughter of the late Jack Rogers and Dorothy Troop. She passed away May 14, 2022 in a local nursing home.

Her mother later remarried Billy S. Cox and he adopted Donna. She attended school in Ft. Worth, Texas and graduated from Paschal High School.

In 1967, she met the love of her life, Tommy Moon, at the Teen-A-Go Go in Ft. Worth. It was love at first sight. They were married in 1968 and in 1969 welcomed a little girl into their family.

Donna loved making people laugh. She also enjoyed dancing and teaching others. She became a certified activities director and worked for various assisted living facilities in the Ft. Worth area. She also had a love for dogs, and she could be found carrying treats in her pockets just in case a fur baby looked hungry.

Donna leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Donale Ford and husband Danny of Springer, OK; her sister, Marilyn Roe and husband Scott of Hot Springs, Arkansas; grandson, Shane Bryant of Ardmore; granddaughter, Shannon Donahue and husband Mike of Springer, OK; two great grandchildren, Faithlyn Bryant and Kaydon Donahue; special cousins Sue Anderson and Johnny Lynch; nephew J.R. Wicker of Atlanta, GA; and her sister-in-law, Debra Kline. Her parents and her mother-in-law, Violet Moon preceded her death The family wishes to thank the staff of Elmbrook Nursing Home for the love and care they provided.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Cross Timbers Hospice in Donnas name.
