The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today for the primary election.
County contested offices for the Republican Primary include Sheriff, Commissioner District No. 2 and County Clerk. It should be noted, unless you live in District No. 2, that race will not appear on your ballot.
Republicans will also vote on the District 48 House Race, the state’s 4th Congressional District and a seat on the corporation commission.
All county voters will be asked to weigh in on an 1/8-cent sales tax to benefit county fire departments as well. In Springer, voters will consider whether or not clerk/treasurer should be employed by approval of the Springer Board of Trustees.
Entering today’s election, 700 ballots have been cast, easily outnumbering the number of early votes in the presidential primary.
Of the early votes, 568 were cast Thursday through Saturday and 132 were received by mail.
