Eugene Riotte was born June 28, 1941 to Louise T. (Helbach) and Carl De Succa Riotte in Ardmore, OK. He passed from this life on January 23, 2023 at the age of 81.
Eugene graduated from Ardmore High School in the class of 1958. He married Alice “Joan” Riotte in 1968 in Ardmore. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage and built their lives in Ardmore.
Eugene was known as many things. The Pontiac Man, the best mechanic around, and the guy who would get the job done right. He was a perfectionist in everything he did, including restoring two 1962 Pontiac Super Duty cars in his golden years with his wife Joan. Both cars went on to win multiple awards including best in show at the Pontiac convention. Cars were his greatest passion all of his life and there wasn’t an engine he couldn’t make run better.
Eugene enjoyed hunting, fishing and having a great time with friends. He loved to smoke meat and talk grilling with his son-in-law Brandon. He was a great storyteller and had a lot of stories to tell. He was known to many as a friend you could count on and to his wife and daughter as a steady rock they could lean on.
Eugene was preceded in death by his wife Joan, son Jonas Eugene and parents Carl and Louise Riotte.
He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Stubbs and her husband Brandon; grandson Noah Stubbs; sister Madonna Weger and her husband Frankie; niece Kim Shires and nephew Lacey Weger.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, January 26th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. A Rosary will be held Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home with a visitation to follow.
