The City of Healdton is under a boil order as a water line repair take place.
City Manager Gus Handke said the boil order is precautionary as crews repaired a 12-inch water main line that was damaged by heavy flooding from storms over the weekend.
“The area in which the break occurred is located near a creek and due to heavy flooding that transpired, the break was difficult to locate,” he said.
Handke expected repairs to be complete by Tuesday afternoon. Recommendations during the boil order include:
- Bring all water to a rolling boil for at least a minute and then let the water cool before using.
- Use bottled water for drinking and cooking is possible
- Avoid tap water for drinking, brushing teeth, making ice or preparing food
Handke added that water samples will be tested throughout the process to ensure the safety of Healdton residents.
