Ima Jean (Roberts) Buck

Ima Jean (Roberts) Buck was born April 23, 1937 to Bertha Mae (Nusz) and Harold Wayne “Richard” Roberts in Enid, OK. She passed from this life on June 9, 2022 at the age of 85. At 3 years of age, Jean’s mother died and she was raised by her maternal grandparents, Alex and Rachel Nusz until their deaths. She was then adopted by Marvin and Moyne Brannon at the age of 13 and moved to Wilson, OK at the age of 16. It was here where she met her future husband, Don Buck. They were married on May 29, 1955 at the First United Methodist Church of Wilson. From this marriage they had 2 children, Jean Ann and Larry Don. Jean enrolled at Southeastern Okla. State University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She taught a half year in Paducah, TX, one year at Springdale School, and 27 years at Plainview Elementary. After retiring she served 5 years on the Plainview Board of Education. Jean was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ardmore.

Jean loved to read, fish and take care of her flowers. She loved traveling to Red River, New Mexico with her sister-in-law, Verna O’neal. She loved spending time with family and friends. She loved camping at Lake Murray. She was kind, loving and respectful to everyone she met.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Bertha Roberts; adopted parents, Marvin and Moyne Brannon, great granddaughter Lilly Grace Chaney; sister Betty Jo; half brothers Leroy Hawbaker and Gary Lee Roberts; and In-laws, Billie Ray Buck, Verna and Lindell O’Neal, Harold and Nona Buck, Mignon and Linda Williams, Ken Hickman, and Dale Buck.

She is survived by her husband, Don Buck, of Wilson; daughter Jean Ann Beavers and her husband Gerald of Ardmore; son Larry Don Buck and his wife Desiree of Wilson; grandchildren Cherri White and her husband Chris of Raleigh, NC, Jill Minyard and her husband Cody of Ardmore, Matt Beavers and his wife Natalie of Edmond, OK, Jayme Buck and his wife Carrie of Keifer, OK, K.C. Buck and his wife Jennifer of McAlester, OK, Dylan Buck and his wife Whitney of Ardmore, Rhett Harbour of Wilson, Rikki Reid of Austin, TX, Logan (Cale) Williams of Madill, Natasha Alexy and her husband Chris of Rose Hill, KS; great grandchildren Haleign Kyle, Abbie Chaney, Jessalyn, Amelia, Jimmy, and Jacoby Minyard, Carolyne, Emalee, Samual, and Zakary White, Louisa and Maeve Beavers, Jalee, Cooper, and Charlee Buck, Carter Buck, Mason, Hudson, and Avery Buck, Tashyn, and Dayden Alexy, Blayzen, Bronsyn, and Chevrin Dowdle, ; great great grandson Beau Alexy; sister in laws Mary (Lynn) Adams, Anna Hickman, and Bettie Brinkerhoff; brother in law Glen Buck; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Good Shepperd Hospice and Dr. Thomas McCullough for the excellent care Jean received during her final days.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, June 16th at 2:00 p.m. at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Dr. David Daniel officiating. Interment will follow at Crinerville Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Craddock Funeral Home.

Matt Beavers, Jayme Buck, K.C. Buck, Dylan Buck, Rhett Harbour, Coly Buck, Kevin Buck, and Lany Buck will serve as pallbearers. Special friends; Diane Buck, Meredith Saunders, C.J. Hilgenburg, Macy Owens,
